Being Productive is the Most Productive Thing You Do

Being Present

How would you feel if, during a coaching call with you, I was texting, checking my email, or kept my eyes fixed on something outside the window while attempting to talk with you?

What if, when you were done talking, I looked up after a long pause and then said, “Wait, what”?

All too often, we do this to our children and other members of our family and friend group. We only give them half of our attention.

Most of us do this because we “think” we are too busy to stop what it is that we are doing to be fully present

If we JUST STOPPED and listened, we would

  • strengthen relationships in less time AND
  • we would save so much time.
Here are a few things that I’ve noticed when I am present with my kids.
  • When I stop what I’m doing, look at them, and listen, they feel heard. When they feel listened to, they don’t come back to tell me, the same thing in a different way because they felt heard and validated the first time.
  • If you start now, giving your children your valued attention, opens the lines of communication for when they are older. This will save you time “worrying about” or “trying to figure out” what they need/want because they WILL tell you things, essential things that you want to know because you’ve developed a pattern of listening.
  • If you listen to what people say the first time, it not only saves you so much time, but it also builds relationships and trust and strengthens your home and business connections.

Show up for your kids, your clients, and your friends, being 100% present to save time and build relationships!
